Wow, it has been along time since I first walked in to the VA. You made me feel comfortable and at ease within minutes. Since then, you and I had shared in some of the best memories I have to date. You helped me out of numerous crisis and provided guidance on issues that you either were cringing at or laughing over privately. So much of my life starting in Seattle is owed to you. I probably wouldn’t have survived with out your input.
Besides that, you have given me unconditional friendship and support. You can’t ask for a better friend than that. Probably my best memory will be our breakfasts and the trip to the locks. And, contrary to belief, you are not a father figure … you’re my friend who cares enough to share his experiences of a lifetime with another and protect him from the pitfalls of life.
